PORC and Athertons on the Beeb!

Yet more fame beckons for PORC. A couple of weeks ago, PORC hosted a training session for a member of BBC's 'The Challenge' adventure race team. The task was to teach Mark (loony NZ bloke!) to ride DH in a day. This required help!

So one phone call later, and two of the fastest DH riders in the country (and the world!)are on their way down south. To see MuddyFox riders Gee and Dan Atherton ride a bike is a humbling experience! Five hours and after a little pushing, Mark is tackling all but the steepest PORC has to offer.

To see the outcome of the day, tune into 'The Challenge' BBC 2 during August 2004.

Thanks to Gee and Dan for their help!

20.12.03 - Trail building time!

It's been a busy time at PORC, and new tracks are starting to take shape. We have a new road-gap, and atleast 2 new DH sections, plus work has started on some new XC single track. If you want to help with track building, and the benefits that come with it, please call Rob on 01892 870136.

PORC DH autumn / winter 2003 comes to a sloppy end...

Thu 9th October - New hire bikes

PORC gets Foxy new bikes. PORC is proud to unveile its new hire bikes from MuddyFox. There are also some top secrect, custom built jump bikes on the way! More info soon!

Bike hire info here.

Downhill

The DH runs include tight/technical, Rock sections, Drops, Gap jumps etc, and is a former venue of the National Short Course DH Champs. It is also where many of the UK's top riders started riding years back. Dowhill races are held quite often. Look out for DH events on the PORC Racing page.

The 'Quarry' Dirtjump area - sponsored by Dirtyhabit

The quarry is PORC's dirtjump area which contains around 40 jumps ranging from 3ft tabletops to monster big air doubles. The quarry is maintained by PORC staff, howies and Identiti riders. There are regular 'jump jams' held which are always a great night out. Look out for jump events on the events & results page.

4 cross

The 4x course at PORC is probably one of the fastest in the uk, where riders may touch up to 40MPH on the straight section. Big air over a mixture of tabletops and rolling doubles all the way down always makes for an exiting race. Look out for duel events on the events & results page.

Cross Country

Features trails for all levels, from experienced riders to families. Can you find the secret single track? The main XC circuit runs pretty much round the perimiter of PORC itself, and is 3.5 miles in length. Look out for XC events on the events & results page.
