20th June -Round 3 Results from Hornton Hill.

With the weather trying it's best to upset the day, and yet untested jumps to try out, round 3 at Hornton Hill was always going to be a challange! The format for the day was 2 open jam sessions of 20 minutes each, followed by a final 10 minute session for each category.

During the open jams, the riders were getting used to the newly re-built older jumps, allowing more fluidity and as we were to find out later, bigger tricks!

By finals time, the wind was still giving the riders some problems, but that didn't stop a show of suicide-to-Xup's, bar spins, attemps at 360's and the odd indian air. Not to mention a superman over one of the small run-in jumps!

In the Open class, consistant smooth runs from John Hopkinson, Chris Turner, Ollie Jones, Jimmy Pratt and Tom Dowie gave us a top 5 that were hard to split. After a final run each, it was Jimmy who took the win with a day of smooth riding and tweaked tricks.

The Elites never fail to impress, and today was no exception. Chris Smith pulled his usual super smooth suicides and indian airs, Rob Newman went all MX with some big heal clickers and Grant Fielder became the bar-spin king! In the end though, it was the ultra lazy 'zummmmerzettt' style of Jim Davage that impressed the judges the most.

The final positions, as decided by Tom Lang from DMR and 24Seven head honcho Fraser were:

Open:

1st - Jimmy Pratt

2nd - Tom Dowie

3rd - Ollie Jones

Elite:

1st -Jim Davage - Curtis, Howies, Globe, Dragon.....

2nd -Grant Fielder - G-bikes, Dirtyhabit

3rd - Mike Smith - DMR, Dirtyhabit

A final word has to go to Grant Fielder, who, after the comp had finished, decided to back-flip one of the smallest jumps of the pack! The future of dirt jumping in the UK?

11th June - NEW HUGE JUMPS AT HORNTON HILL!

So you recon you like big jumps! After a couple of days with a digger, Hornton Hill now looks like it is ready to host this years Gravity Games! A new 6- pack has been created and it is huge, with the smallest of the pack being a poultry 23ft long! Hornton Hill's head honcho, Damian thinks these new jumps are so big, that he has put up a DVD player for the first person to jump them on the sunday!

A massive thanks goes to John Hopkinson, Ricky Crompton, Jim Davage, Chris Smith and Elliot Clarke for there help .
